About Us
The KAAF is a not-for-profit organisation established to support and enhance relationships between Australia and South Korea through cultural liaison. Founded in 2013 by Ms Hoim Lee, KAAF first took its initial steps with undivided support from the Korean Cultural Centre and then director of KCC, Mr Dong-Ok Lee.
KAAF also supports Australian artists through various programs and events including the annual KAAF Art Prize. KAAF first began its work in 2013 with two distinct motives: launching of The KAAF Art Prize and to run cultural exchange programs between Korea and Australia. The initial motives are still being fulfilled, having completed its 11th prize exhibition and 12th in progress as well as having launched numerous exchange exhibitions in Korea and Sydney with continuous support from KCC. Over the past 12 years the KAAF Art Prize in particular has grown substantially in stature and prestige and it is now recognised as the most established art event run within the Korean community, having given out well over AUD 200,000 in prize monies.
President Hoim Lee, Chairman Douglas Park meet with KCC Director Mr Dong-Ok Lee and KCC staff to discuss the upcoming KAAF art prize.

Our Mission
We understand the importance of a strong and interconnected community that actively engages with art and culture.
Therefore, KAAF aims to foster such a community in Australia's diverse and vibrant society, enhancing cross-cultural liaison between Korea and Australia using art initiatives. We aspire to serve as a vital platform that advances and strengthens bilateral relations between the two countries by promoting cultural understanding, collaboration and long-term engagement.
We are dedicated to serving and supporting the art community in any way we can, recognising the integral role that art and culture play in enriching our lives. We are committed to promoting and elevating artistic expression through our resources and services and strive to make a positive impact through our efforts. We hope to cultivate a thriving, dynamic community that celebrates and embraces diversity through the arts.
We aim to maintain these values by regularly organising and conducting art competitions and exhibitions. These initiatives will create a natural platform for bilateral liaison between the two countries and through it, spread awareness about the importance of cultural diversity and inclusivity. This will also promote networking, the exchange of ideas and mutual understanding.
