I eat broccoli with most of my meals but two months ago was the first time I had painted some. During the August Sydney deluge I placed a head of it on a white wooden plank on the floor in the light from a downstairs window. It looked a bit like a felled tree. I went on to do four broccoli paintings and this one was my favourite.
