Full Bloom in Blue divides the canvas into two realms: one side dense with blooming forms, the other open in fields of blue. This duality is both a material experiment and a reflection on balance—accepting the raw qualities of different mediums while seeking harmony between fullness and emptiness.
In East Asian painting, emptiness (yeobaek) is not absence but presence. It embodies respect, coexistence, and imperfection—what appears unfilled still resonates with meaning. Through this work, I explore how contrasting elements can coexist without conflict, where bloom and silence complete each other.
The piece belongs to the broader exhibition Strange Views of the Garden, which reimagines the garden as a living space of memory and transformation. Here, materiality and intuition guide the process—flowing pigments, unplanned textures, and intuitive gestures remain as traces of dialogue.
Full Bloom in Blue invites the viewer to find beauty in coexistence, presence within silence.
